Synthesis of polystyrene with 1,1diphenylethene pendant groups via atom transfer radical polymerization

摘要: 通过原子转移自由基聚合(ATRP)制备了含1,1-二苯基乙烯(DPE)侧基的聚苯乙烯. 首先用ATRP聚合单体4-乙烯基苄氧基二苯甲酮得到含二苯甲酮侧基的聚苯乙烯,然后通过Wittig反应将二苯甲酮侧基转化为DPE侧基. 采用1H NMR, IR和GPC对所得产物及其中间体的结构和分子量进行了表征. 结果证明所得聚合物含有DPE官能团,而且分子量可控,分子量分布窄.

Abstract: Polystyrenes with 1,1diphenylethene (DPE) pendent groups were synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). ATRP of 4-vinylbenzyloxy benzophenone led to the formation of polystyrenes with benzophenone pendant groups. Then, the benzophenone pendant groups were converted to DPE pendent groups by Wittig reaction to yield the desired polymer. The resulting polymers and their precursors were characterized by 1H NMR,IR,and GPC measurements in detail. The results show that the polymers have DPE pendant groups, controllable molecular weight, and a narrow molecular weight distribution.
