The idea of filtering due to Lin and Vitter is used to study the weighted median problem in complete graphs， and an approximation algorithm is presented, which outputs a solution of approximation ratio 1+ε (ε＞0) to this problem with minimum packing constraint violations.

By using fDecomposition classes, another form of FDecomposition of equivalence classes is defined, and the F Decomposition theorem of the lower and upper approximation of rough fuzzy sets is presented. The properties of the λcut sets of the lower and upper approximation are discussed, and then the FUnion Decomposition theorem of the lower and upper approximation of rough fuzzy sets is given.

The call admission control problem is an important optimization problem encountered in the design and operation of communication networks. The goal of the problem in rings is to determine and route, for a given ring network with edge capacities and a set of calls with arbitrary profits, a maximum profit subset of the calls such that no edge capacity is violated. Polynomial time pproximation schemes (PTASs) for both the undirected and the directed cases are presented.

Consider the nonlinear matrix equation X+A*XqA=I with q>0，where I is the n×n identity matrix, A is the n×n complex matrix. Some properties of the solution and the basic fixed point iterations for the equation are discussed in some detail, and the explicit formulations about uniqueness of the solution are given.The results are illustratd by numerical examples.

omputational methods based on a linearized implicit scheme are proposed for the solution of a class compound KdVBurgers equation. An important advantage to be gained from the linearized implicit methods is unconditionally stable. Numerical results portraying a single linesoliton solution and the interaction of twoline soliton are reported for the compound KdVBurgers equation.And they show that the method has good stability and accuracy.

Some unsteady flows of generalized second grade fluid over a flat plate are studied. The fractional calculus approach is taken into account in the constitutive relationship of viscoelastic fluid model. Based on the flow conditions described, three flow situations are solved and the exact analytic solutions are given by using the Fourier sine and cosine transforms and the theory of Laplace transform for fractional calculus.

The forecasting of air pollution is a complexity nonlinear problem with multiple factors, which is mostly solved with linear regression analysis in the past. The parameterized combination operator suggested by Prof. Zimmermann is generalized to the multiple cases. Based on the analysis of contributing factors, a model of parameterized combination operator in air pollution forecasting is presented, which is suitable to nonlinear problems. An analysis shows the reasonability of this method.
