Abstract: The species of floral visitors and foraging behaviors were investigated by field observation, the morphological characteristics of pollens were also investigated by scanning electron microscopy. The main results were as follows: Common floral visitors of W. sinensis within observing time were species of Xylocopa appendiculata Smith and Apis mellifera ligustica Spinola, which belonged to the order of Hymenoptera. They both had legitimate visits as pollinators of W. sinensis. We also found nectar thieving behavior of Apis mellifera ligustica Spinola in the process of visiting. Three different morphological pollens were observed: prolate with tricolporate, elongated-elliptical in equatorial view and sub-3-lobed-circular in polar view; triangular pyramid with hexcolporate, subtriangular in equatorial view and polar view; and the third was tetracolporate, subtriangular in equatorial view and subrhombus in polar view. The extine ornamentation of pollens described above were all like orange peel.

Key words: pollinators, foraging behavior, pollen polymorphism, W. sinensis
