Experimental investigation on the relationship between steering coefficient #br# and volume fraction in two-dimensional static granular system

Abstract:

 Experimental investigation on the relationship between steering coefficient and volume fraction in two-dimensional static granular system was carried. The results show that granular volume fraction increases, steering coefficient decreases gradually and reaches a saturated state while putting a steady stress on the grains continually; at the same time, steering coefficient increases and reaches a saturated state with the increasing of granular stacking angel. According to the experimental results, a parameter equation matching with the experimental data was provided.
