Double emulsion gels stabilized by surfactants and nanoparticles

摘要: 为获得稳定的乳液结构,进一步发挥其在活性物质包封及输运中的作用,通过两步乳化法制备水包油包水(W1/O/W2)型双重乳液,并将其进行凝胶化得到乳液凝胶。以辛癸酸甘油酯(ODO)为油相,聚甘油蓖麻醇酸酯(PGPR)和十六烷基三甲基溴化铵(CTAB)原位修饰的纳米二氧化硅颗粒分别作为W1/O、O/W2乳液的界面稳定剂,考察乳化剂用量及油水比例对乳液类型、微观结构及稳定性的影响,确定制备稳定的W1/O及O/W2乳液的最佳配比。在此基础上,将一步乳化得到的W1/O乳液作为分散相,W2作为连续相,进一步乳化制备水包油包水(W1/O/W2)型双重乳液。通过在外水相(W2)中添加结冷胶,构筑结构稳定的乳液凝胶体系,其在室温放置60 d后,乳液微观结构未发现明显变化。本研究通过将外水相凝胶化获得稳定性良好的双重乳液凝胶体系,为活性物质封装和缓释等载体体系的应用开发提供有益的参考。

Abstract: In order to obtain the stable emulsion structures to further improve the performance in encapsulation and transport for active substances, a water-in-oil-in-water(W1/O/W2)type double emulsion was successfully constructed by a two-step emulsification method, and the emulsion gel was obtained through a gelation process. The polyglycerol polyricinoleate(PGPR)and silica nanoparticles modified with hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB)were respectively used as stabilizers for W1/O and O/W2 emulsions, andoctyl and decyl glycerate(ODO)was used as the oil phase. The effect of emulsifier dosage and oil-water ratio on the emulsion type, droplet microstructure and emulsion stability were investigated to obtain the optimal conditions for preparing stable W1/O and O/W2 emulsions.On this basis, the W1/O emulsion from single-step emulsification was used as the dispersed phase with W2 as the continuous phase for the preparation of stable water-in-oil-in-water(W1/O/W2)double emulsions.The emulsion gels with excellent stability were obtained by introducing Gellan gum(GG)into the outer water phase, with no observed microstructural change after kept for 60 days at room temperature. In this study, the stable double emulsion gel system formed by gelation of the external aqueous phasewere hopefully helpful for the applications in encapsulation and release of active substances using emulsions as carriers.
